Yoga for a Healthy Body and a Kind Heart

Description
In this workshop for children ages 6-10 and their parent(s) or caregiver(s), children will be invited to join in games, listen to stories, learn relaxation techniques, engage in guided imagery, and practice yoga postures while learning how they specifically benefit the body, mind and heart. Parents will be welcome to observe all and participate in several of the activities. Help teach your child to care for their physical and emotional well-being through the practice of yoga.
Presenter Bio
Meg Agnew, Seattle Yoga Arts
Meg Agnew has been teaching yoga classes in Seattle since 1993 and currently leads classes at both Seattle Yoga Arts and OM Town Yoga. Meg is a mother, a former first and second grade teacher, and has earned a masters degree in elementary education from San Francisco State University. She believes that an open-hearted practice of yoga teaches children to care for and celebrate their own body, and from this fundamental self-honoring, to grow in empathy and compassion for all living beings.
