The Stillness Challenge: Teaching Children to be Calm and Centered
Tuesday, April 15. 5:00pm - 6:30pm. McCaw Grand Lobby.
Description
Boundless energy is the hallmark of children. It is healthy. It is desired. Yet all of us who work with and experience these young treasures also wonder what it might be like if they could also master the skill of being calm and centered. It is possible! And it is even fun for the young. In our workshop children as well as parents, teachers, and mentors of children are invited into the Stillness Challenge. In our workshop we will access the core principles of the Taijiquan (Tai Chi) and Qigong (Chi Kung) to give children a head start on the mind-body connection. We will explore tools for developing strength and self-esteem as well as sensitivity, intuition, and self-confidence. Everyone wins the Stillness Challenge!
