Parenting From the Heart

Description 

This interactive workshop is designed to playfully bring forward our best intentions and skills as parents. Using a clear theoretical framework, Dr. McVittie will share practical tools and perspectives that invite participants to bring their heart back into parenting while still maintaining the structure families need for children to thrive. Teach our children with kindness and firmness, and sow seeds of compassion in our own families. 

Presenter Bio 

Jody McVittie, MD, Encouraging Solutions, Sound Discipline and Positive Discipline 

A native Seattleite, Jody McVittie, MD has also lived in Latin America and Europe. She received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. She worked as a family physician in both California and Washington before deciding to work as a parent educator and trainer. Currently she consults with school staff, trains parent educators, and teaches parent education classes. Her dream is to build healthy communities by teaching parents, teachers, and students how to work together in relationships founded on deep mutual respect.
