Lovingkindness Meditation

Sunday, April 13. 6:00pm-7:30pm. Olympic Room.

Monday, April 14. 12:00pm-1:30pm. Bagley Wright Theater.

Description

Lovingkindness meditation is a process that emphasizes compassion for ourselves and others as a way to learn and develop self-awareness and an ethical relationship to the world. This practice develops greater concentration; an expanded sense of connection; skills to deal with anger, fear and frustration; and a better sense of balance in both taking care of ourselves and taking care of others. Sharon Salzberg will explore the theory behind these meditation exercises and support us in our own experience through direct instruction, using classical techniques in a modern idiom. This workshop is suitable for both new and experienced meditators.
