Kinder Kids: Safer Schools

Description

In this highly interactive workshop, Linda Kavelin Popov, founder of The Virtues Project, and Betsy Lydle Smith, Master Facilitator, will present the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project, a multicultural initiative being used in schools throughout the world.  Participants will receive tools they can immediately use to cultivate compassion, transform bullying to leadership, and violence to virtues in schools and the community.

This workshop includes:

  • The power of language to awaken compassion.
  • The transformative power of virtues universally valued by all cultures.
  • Recognizing teachable moments to help develop character.
  • Positive discipline based on restorative justice.
  • Helping children live a life of purpose and service.
  • Success stories from schools and youth organizations around the world.

Presenter Bios

Linda Kavelin Popov

Bestselling author Linda Kavelin Popov is an international speaker on personal and global transformation. She is co-founder of The Virtues Project, a global initiative that inspires the practice of virtues in all aspects of life. The project was honored by the United Nations during the International Year of the Family in 1994 as a “model global program for families of all cultures.” Linda has also been named a “cultural creative” by Time magazine, and she has appeared on "Oprah" and many other television shows, including a national documentary series in Canada on The Virtues Project: “Virtues A Family Affair.”

Betsy Lydle Smith

Betsy Lydle Smith has been a Virtues Project Facilitator since 1992 and has conducted Virtues Project workshops and training for schools, organizations, individuals, and families in Washington State, Oregon, California, Montana, Texas, Wisconsin, New York, as well as Canada and Japan.
