Youth: Compassion In Action
Tuesday, April 15. 3:00pm - 4:30pm. Lopez Room.
Description
The goal of this workshop will be to provide opportunities for youth to engage in conversations and action based on the shared value of compassion. This includes participation in a citywide Day of Interfaith Service on Earth Day (April 22nd) and the creation of a regional interreligious action movement that will encourage young people to clarify their values, foster understanding, and cooperate to serve the local and global community.
It will be a past, present, and future look at compassion in action (everything from Sikhism to the Underground Railroad and more). It will involve story telling, personal discovery, fun icebreakers, and activities geared towards demonstrating the thin divide between personal differences and similarities. Finally, it will focus on the development of collaborative long-term works of compassion to be created and led by youth.
