Presenter Bio

Jenna Bilmes, Kids From the Inside Out

As soon as I began working with young children over 20 years ago, I was drawn to the kids who struggled to get through their days. Angry, confused toddlers and young preschoolers who fought their ways through life fascinated me. Soon I began to specialize in these troubled children, working in a number of therapeutic childcare settings alongside talented caregivers. Those years of working with at-risk and damaged children taught me the importance of positive relationships in the lives of children. Instead of punishing bad behavior, I turned my energies to helping children learn the skills we all need to navigate life successfully. I took what I learned from these inspiring teachers and children and began to travel the world to share with and dialogue with other caregivers, parents and administrators. From this work, my book “Beyond Behavior Management” was born…a compiled wisdom from those who shared their lives and experiences with me.
