About this Wiki
A wiki is an easy-to-use collaborative website, such as Wikipedia. The key feature that distinguishes a wiki from other sites is the ability for multiple people to add or edit web pages.
What is unique about the Seeds of Compassion Wiki?
This wiki project has many editors, but the editing privileges are not wide open to the public. If there's something you would like to add or edit, please contact us at wiki@seedsofcompassion.org. We're open to proposals!
What is the quickest and easiest way to participate?
Simply choose 'Add Comment' at the bottom of most wiki pages. An editor will review new comments each day and might add them to the appropriate web page after the Seeds of Compassion event.
What is our policy for deleting malicious comments?
The purpose of this wiki is to integrate grassroots voices from aroundthe world with the Seeds of Compassion goals. Withthe exception of vulgar, profane, racist, orthreatening comments, we intend to leave most comments intact, so asto preserve an accurate record of this historic event and how peopleresponded to it.
However, if there are repetitious, spam-type commentsthat don’t address the actual questions on the page and/or areobviously attempting to dilute the submissions, we will consider deleting malicious entries oncase-by-case basis.
The First Step
Please Introduce Yourself and then Share Your Ideas for nurturing kindness and compassion in the world through children and all those who touch their lives.
Comments
Dear Dalai Lama,
I have read many of the comments on this wiki and feel disturbed by some of the anger and ignorance expressed by my fellow human beings. I see the complete lack of compassion in those who present their views about Tibet and the suffering China has caused the Tibetan people. Understanding that a mere photo of you can land a Tibetan in jail and eventually on slave-like work crews to create infrastructure for the Chinese, my heart breaks at the injustice.
Your Holiness, how do you handle the anger and ignorance that you must confront in your daily life? Does the behavior of your fellow sentient beings ever frustrate and hurt you?
I know that limitless compassion is the objective - I've watched you demonstrate this for many years. I hold deep respect for this ability and wonder how this can be accomplished by those of us without the benefit of your wisdom.
Namaste,
Jude Lyon
